Project Associates
has acquired ClearPath Strategies and rebranded as Panterra

LONDON, 23rd October 2024 – Global strategic advisory consultancy, Project Associates, today announced that it has acquired the US-based strategic research company, ClearPath Strategies. At the same time, it announced that it has rebranded, with the company to be known as “Panterra”, reflecting the firm’s global reach and impact.

ClearPath Strategies is one of the world’s leading providers of strategic opinion research, with significant expertise in polling, focus groups, market research, and other studies into electoral, regulatory, and reputational perceptions and the opportunities to influence them. It has particular experience in supporting election campaigns around the world, advising governments on policy & advocacy issues, and working with leading companies to manage change and understand global regulatory shifts. It has been operating for over 10 years and has its largest hubs in New York and San Francisco.

The acquisition strengthens privately-owned Panterra’s ability to collect, analyse and leverage data to inform its integrated advisory work while providing clear growth opportunities in the research space. The deal will increase Panterra’s revenue and headcount by over 50%, and the synergies are expected to further intensify the growth of the Group.

Panterra will operate as three international and complementary divisions: Panterra Advisory, led by Simon Chase; Panterra Research, led by the two founders of ClearPath, David Bluestone and John Garrett, who will also join the board of Panterra; and Panterra Create, a creative & event activation division led by Nina Febo. All three divisions are expected to play a role across the majority of Panterra projects.

Panterra will continue to operate globally, with offices in San Francisco, New York, Washington DC, London, Brussels, and Abu Dhabi – and a network of advisors and colleagues spread elsewhere.

Rob Worthington, Panterra CEO, commented: “This deal reflects Panterra’s focus on continued growth in the breadth and quality of our capabilities, as we increasingly become a truly integrated, global advisory firm. It builds on the exceptional double-digit growth we have achieved year-on-year over the last four years, and sets the path for further expansion, potentially via new acquisitions. We are delighted to have the ClearPath team with us, and have seen their exceptional capabilities and credentials over a number of years of working together before the deal. Their research skills, combined with our Create events division, add to our Advisory division’s ability to provide a full suite of services to our global clients.”

David Bluestone: “Our roots are in building strategies for winning campaigns around the globe—for politicians, governments, corporations, and issue advocates. By joining Panterra, we are thrilled to join like-minded colleagues in the Advisory and Create divisions whose expertise can extend our research insights into creative and compelling executions. This is the natural evolution for our firm. We are convinced that, as a Group, we will deliver more for our clients – from insights to action – and have a bigger impact globally.”

Mark Medish, DC-based Director and Vice Chair of Panterra added: “Having worked with David and John for almost a decade, I am excited about the capabilities they bring to the firm, both in the United States and globally. In the US they have developed an outstanding reputation for serving the most prestigious and dynamic companies in the technology, financial, industrial, and non-for-profit sectors among others. This blue-chip expertise complements the work of the firm across the rest of the world and puts us in a strong position to expand across North America.”
